In Venezuela läuft der Wahlkampf für die Wahlen zur Nationalversammlung am 26. September auf vollen Touren. Berichte aus den US-amerikanischen Medien füttern die Oppostion mit starken Meinungen. Die Berichterstattung scheint voreingenommen – Zeit für eine kritische Medienanalyse.
Die Vorlagen für die Opposition kommen bei diesem Wahlkampf aus den USA. So produzierte CNN zusammen mit einem spanischen und venezolanischen Privatsender ein Video über die angeblich bewaffneten Garden von Chávez-Unterstützern. Eine Woche lang war es DAS Thema in den Oppositionsmedien.

Pochi personaggi al mondo sono nel mirino della stampa internazionale come il Presidente venezuelano Hugo Chávez. Viene chiamato dittatore, autoritario, buffone e matto. Dittatore nonostante essere stato eletto tre volte come Presidente, essersi sottoposto addirittura a un referendum a metà presidenza (nessun’altro capo di Stato al mondo ne ha avuto il coraggio finora), e aver vinto altre otto elezioni e referendum con le forze che lo appoggiano.
